About Me

My name is Neil Pitchford. I self identify as a Brythonic Polytheist. I have come to this not through some negative experiences of the Abrahamic religions but through a slowly developed and identified connection to my locality. I find this to be more “spiritual” than the teachings of any world religion (though that doesn’t mean I harbour any ambitions to evangelize to others). I find the modern neo-shamanic viewpoint to be consistent with my thoughts and experiences and this partly informs my position along with others, such as the animistic world view.

It is my hope that the methods and experiences that have led me down this path will be archived here so that others (if they are interested) may use my experiences / ideas for their own development.

I take a keen interest in archaeology, history (both local and otherwise) and the sciences amongst other things. I enjoy sports, having taken an interest in Rugby League for 15 plus years and tend to gravitate towards the minority sports such as biathlon, ski jumping, speedway etc.

It was a pleasure to meet you at The Druid Network and I hope you enjoy my Brunanburgh fantasy. I do have a substantial amount of information on the real history of the Battle Of Brunanburh. Thats why I took the position of not writing more speculation but to just advocate the South Yorkshire site.

In my presentations to local groups I present a more balance approach to the other serious contenders.

The rest of life allowing, I now intend to look though your site. You already have me on your side indicating your preference for real rugby and not that other form of the game much beloved of public school boys and estate agents.

    Hail Brigantia!

Hello David, it was good to meet you. I’ve started reading your book and it looks interesting so I’ll be in contact. As for my some what less than triumphal talk, you may be better to go to here..http://religionofthesoil.com/ that I have just set up, which goes in to some depth on the subject matter.
